This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, David Gutierrez-Rivera who was born in Colorado on July 31, 1986 and passed away on September 18, 2006 at the age of 20. We will remember him forever.

David was a bright and happy young man who was greatly loved and cared for by his family. He was my older brother and I will miss him a great deal!

David was born to Felcia and Tommy Rivera in 1986, when he was born the doctors immediately noticed something was wrong, by running some tests they found out that he has the rare disorder Hydranencephaly. He had no brain matter whatsoever and the doctors relayed a grim outlook to my parents. They told them not to expect David to live past one years old, and if he did that he would have a life time of difficulties. David could not walk, talk and had to be fed through a feeding tube, but despite all of these difficulties, David was a very bright young man who finished and graduated from Alamosa High School! In January of 2005 Davids health begun to fail and he was hospitalized, from there his health deteriorated. David was brought home under hospice care and the care of his family.During this difficult time David was cared for by his dad Tommy and mom Felicia, sisters Tanya, Natasha, DeAnna, and Vanessa, also brothers Anthony and Raymond. David was also an uncle to Donovan and Jaeden and they helped bring a smile to his face those last hard days. David passed away on September 18, 2006 with a difficult battle for his life. David you are a very strong and brave boy we all love you and miss you very much! We all know that God had a plan for sending David to our family, he taught us so much about life. David is now in heaven playing with the angels and watching over the younger hydran angels and keeping a close eye on our family. He is no longer suffering or hurting, there is only happiness and love in his life now!
